Last night, after going out on a post-feast date/update with a friend of mine, I came home to find out that my internet was off due to a series of amusing mischances and so I was unable to post anything online. I wrote two blog entries but will be unable post them until this evening. That said, I wanted to give at least some account of why I did not follow my usual pattern of posting. Our home internet, which has been on CenturyLink, has not been faring very well of late, and we have been pretty disappointed with it. My roommates decided to switch to Comcast, which we had all used before and been pleased with, and they sent a cable model to replace the CenturyLink one. It arrived on Sabbath while I was at church or one of the many other related activities (namely choir practice, the pot luck at a friend’s house, and volleyball practice) and I found in the evening that the postman had cometh but had not knocked on the door so that the package could be delivered. Of course, the post office was closed yesterday due to Columbus Day, and so the package could not be retrieved from the post office then either. Hopefully we can have the net up and running tonight, because I am rather attached to my internet, if I may permitted to say so.
