On The Road Again

Although the trip I have to make today to Redmond-Bend for the Feast of Tabernacles is a short one, and though I made this same trek last year (albeit not as a driver), my thoughts have been somewhat pensive as I approach this feast, for as is sometimes the case, there is a great deal of uncertainty about what will be found. When I went to the feast last year, it was in a particularly hectic and dramatic time of my life where I had few expectations and was gratified at the friendliness and generosity I found. This year, I have similar reason to praise the generosity of friends, but it is difficult to see how the results of the feast will square with my expectations, hopes, and plans, all of which I had few of at all last year. As I am already late to start my trip, I will not make this entry long, but I do wish to say that even though I do plan on being busy, I hope to make posts about the activities as well as the spiritual reflection that this festival always brings. I hope there will be much to laugh about and enjoy, and I hope that all of my spiritual brothers and sisters, wherever they may be spending the next eight days, will have a feast that is enjoyable on multiple levels as well. I would like to read of and hear of your own stories as well, as no doubt I shall when time and situation permit. Until then, happy trails to you, wherever you may find yourself.
